Sleep and Snoring Treatment

Have you ever been told that you snore while you sleep? Have you been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea and are now looking for next steps? You're in the right place!

Here at Blue Water Dentistry, we offer multiple options for patients who are looking for sleep and snoring treatment. Whether you have been diagnosed by your physician with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) or are looking to treat your snoring for a better night sleep, we have options!

Obstructive Sleep Apnea Treatment

Have you recently had a sleep study performed and found out that you have obstructive sleep apnea? Have you tried to use a CPAP without success? Let us help!

OSA occurs when you stop breathing at night and may pose serious health risks as it disrupts normal sleep patterns and can reduce normal blood oxygen levels. If you believe you have sleep apnea and have not been diagnosed, reach out to your primary care physician to discuss. If you have already been diagnosed with OSA and have attempted use of the CPAP without success, we may have a solution for you.

Dr. Kristen is trained in treating patients with OSA. What is the proposed solution? Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT). What is oral appliance therapy? OAT utilizes a custom-made, adjustable FDA cleared appliance specifically made to assist breathing by keeping the tongue and jaw in a forward position during sleeping hours. In order to derive the benefits of OAT, the appliance must always be worn while you sleep.

Snoring Treatment

Have you been told that you snore while you sleep? We can help!

Snoring is caused by the vibration that can occur when air flows past relaxed tissue in the soft palate. These tissues can become even more relaxed with age or weight gain. Snoring is often a symptom of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), a serious condition that can be life threatening.

Here at Blue Water Dentistry, we use Solea Sleep, the latest laser technology for treatment. Solea Sleep is a treatment for snoring only. Dr. Kristen may do an evaluation of your airway and, depending on results, may then recommend that you consult a physician for further evaluation.

Solea Sleep reduces or eliminates snoring by tightening tissue in the soft palate and reducing vibrations that cause snoring. This is a nonsurgical laser treatment that takes only a few minutes with no recovery time and can provide immediate relief. Enjoy a better night’s sleep for you and your partner.
